Real Photo of Czechs being executed in Northern Italy/Suedtirol/Tyrol; Czech patriots often changed sides and fought for the Allies in WWI, hoping (successfully, in the event) for an independent country if Austria were to be defeated. Austrians, however, considered Czechs fighting for the Allies as committing treason and those captured were treated as such (just as would an American, if one had changed sides and fought against the USA). A note on the rverse states that these Czechs were executed after the battle of Rosa Alta / Altarosa.
