German 'Schmuckblatt' / decorative large-size telegram to commemorate the opening of the Reichstag and Hitler's assumption of power in 1933. He met President Hindenburg and others at the Garrison church in Potsdam, where the famous picture of him bowing to Hindenburg was taken. (see http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/riseofhitler/dictator.htm fro a good description of the event). This telegram shows the German eagle flying over a swastika banner on the front, and has a picture of the Potsdam Garrsion Church (where Frederick the Great is buried) reverse. Used as 'Best Wishes' for a 1934 wedding in Berlin-Friedenau.
