"Ou le Tommy est-il reste?" series: one of a series of 12 so-called 'Halt gegen Licht' / 'Hold to Light' propaganda cards made by the Germans for the French as the death knell tolled for the Reich. Very scarce, and the nature of their production as well as the usual extensive handling mean most of the few that exist are in second quality -- those in this sale are in the best condition I've seen. The back is black and white, as you can see in the second scan, but if you hold it up to the light you can see a racy color picture filling the blank portion. This one shows half-clad French girls in a bar being picked up by British soldiers. Few toned spots, excellent condition.
