An original Civil War-era group of stamped covers and documents from the Union. Featuring many items from Colonel James D Graham with the Army Corps of Topographical Engineers (of which he was a founding member). Col Graham was superintendent of the United States Lake Survey during the war and also worked the re-survey of the Mason Dixon line before the war. Many letters from that correspondence, but also others -- over 60 letters or letters+covers, all pictured. Includes several Ohio/Iowa as well as at least one long letter from New Orleans. An original trove of Civil War Americana.
