Japanese girl postcard dated Nov 8, 1904, used from on board the SMS Kaiserin Elizabeth, in Japan on the Asia station to protect Austrian interests in China after the Boxer Rebellion. A scarce card from the small contingent of the Austrian Kriegsmarine in the Far East in this period. Austria had a relatively small Navy which became landlocked after WWI.
